the materials we use..

our chairs are not intended for a gallery space or for single use. they are made with long-lasting materials and quite literally, guaranteed for life. this means your grandkids could inherit these chairs... if you have any...

.. INSIDE

inside all of them there is a wooden structure that is made in two ways, depending on whether the chair is padded or not. if it is not padded we use 3 layers of 3mm birch plywood (eames plywood) which we generally buy in northern europe (since it changes it is useless to write here exactly where it comes from, it is not for lack of transparency, eh. if instead they are padded, in order to make the so-called piping, we use 4 layers of the same plywood and of the same thickness, with a groove on the edge.

.. ON TOP

On top of this very resistant little wooden heart we put the best of the best out there (and which, probably by chance, is all Italian).

ABET LAMINATE
LAMINATES
by Abet Laminati

the laminate coverings of our chairs are produced by abet laminati. a company based in Bra (a small town in Piedmont and where they also make really good sausages).

Abet Laminati since the 1950s has contributed to writing the history of Italian industrial design (what the laziest call "made in Italy"). Giugiaro, Sottsass, Mari, Joe Colombo and then of course Lombrello has used their products too.

well, their laminates that we use come in 12 basic colours, but the truth is that if you have special needs, the solutions are virtually infinite and we can get them all quoted for you.

IMNATIV
TEXTILE
by ImNativ

Reliable yet still exciting. Resistant but never immobile. Every day ImNativ manages to amaze us. We know every feature and every fiber of these fabrics, yet we still find ourselves surprised by the new possibilities and contexts of use every day

WIGGLE
WIGGLE
by lombrello

WIGGLE is the new LOMBRELLO fabric: it is the protagonist of our first ready-to-sit '23 collection. WIGGLE's polypropylene is recovered from industrial waste, taslanized and jacquard woven. The fabric is designed by @taniagrace and developed in collaboration with @ imersilia by imNativ.

RUBELLI
TEXTILES
by Rubelli

we use fabrics (velvets, chenilles and more) produced by rubelli, a Venetian company that has been making this, fabrics, since 1889.

in cucciago, near como, they have a weaving mill that works as a laboratory for researching new structures and different designs.

at ca' pisani rubelli - where they have the showroom - you can also visit the historical archive of their foundation. if you happen to pass us.

they are fabrics that you can find at the bolshoi (the curtain, really) and at the gallia in milan. we say it because someone cares.

ALPI WOOD VENEER
WOOD VENEER
by Alpi Wood

there are those who like the sensation of wood and so we cover the chairs with that too. we buy the coverings from alpi wood, which is a company founded by pietro alpi in 1919 and specialized in the production of composite wood.

our chairs can be customised with a dozen (they change every year) varieties of this wood that alpi calls ALPIlignum. several drawings are signed (there is one by sottosass, one by urquiola, just as examples).
